Critical Point Facility 2
Critical Point research facility in Spacelab
Role: Scientific and technical software support
Client: University of Amsterdam
from 1993
until 1994
CPF-2 was a successor of
CPF ('89-'92). It was flown in the
IML-2 mission of the Spaceshuttle.
During this period I worked in NLR's "Dutch Utilization Center", a prototype remote work location for scientists, so that the scientists wouldn't have to travel to Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville Alabama.
During this period I've developed many technical and scientific applications like;
- software to work around a buggy trans-Atlantic datalink (in Labview and C)
- software to track the movement of interferometry fringes in our experiment
- software to schedule our activities with respect to the AOS/LOS periods of Spacelab
